When he visits a local bakery, six-year-old Kazuma discovers he has a talent for making bread. Ten years later, he races to Tokyo to pursue his dream.

At the recruitment competition for Pantasia, Kazuma gets a taste of the strict rules and quickly gains a jealous adversary among the adept contenders.

Instructed to bake croissants, Kawachi is panicked by the mastery of one of the remaining competitors. He turns to Kazuma to gain an advantage.

Their sights set high, Kazuma and Kawachi begin work at a Pantasia branch. But before they can sell their bread, they need a fussy manager’s approval.

Tasked with making delicious bread without certain allergens, Kazuma and Kawachi work on their own plans. Kazuma's sister brings a special ingredient.

When the boys worry about the branch’s lack of customers, Matsushiro introduces them to a nearby rival bakery and its eccentric manager Mokoyama.

During the televised duel between St. Pierre and Pantasia, Mokoyama's exceptional bread gets a perfect score. Kazuma counters with an unusual entry.

Matsushiro informs the boys of a tournament for all new bakers at Pantasia. Tsukino claims that Kawachi can obtain the same special ability as Kazuma.

Tsukino continues to put Kawachi through the physically demanding training regimen. An exhausted Kazuma finds what he needs at a sushi restaurant.

With Kawachi's training paying off, he gains confidence and derides Kazuma. At the main Pantasia branch, Kuroyanagi inspects the competition entries.
